Dr. Meenakshi Agarwal, M.S., M. Ch., D.N.B. (Plastic Surgery), is the Director of the Face & Figure Aesthetic, Plastic & Laser Surgery Centre . She has now been closely associated with this premier Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Centre of the country for the past five years.

She completed her basic medical degree from the King George's Medical College, Lucknow in 1992 and completed her General Surgery from the country's renowned Banaras Hindu University in 1997.

In order to pursue her cherished dream of becoming a Plastic Surgeon, she competed with her contemporaries to qualify for one of the established units of the specialty at the SMS Medical College and Hospital at Jaipur. She completed her degree course in 2001 and also subsequently attained membership of the elite Diplomate of National Board in Plastic Surgery in 2002.

It was then that she decided to gain insight into the broad specialty of Plastic surgery and worked for over a year at India's leading Plastic Surgery Departments at the Safdarjang Hospital and the Lok Nayak Hospitals at New Delhi. This was just the beginning of her search for excellence and the time was now ripe for her to launch herself into her Aesthetic Surgical career.

She shifted base to Mumbai and joined this major centers of excellence in the city and has painstakingly worked under the fathers of aesthetic surgery in the country.

Additionally, after completing her Plastic Surgical training she has worked for a year and a half in teaching institutes at New Delhi and Mumbai and independently manage the general plastic surgery routine and emergency cases.

The array of cases in Aesthetic Plastic and Laser Surgery she manages independently and as a member of the team include Large volume Ultrasonic Liposuctions, Abdominoplasties, Breast Augmentations and Reductions, Nose Corrections, Hair Transplants, Face Lifts also by advanced Suspension Suture Techniques of APTOS asides the regulation basic general aesthetic plastic surgical cases and conditions.

Of the many Cosmetic Surgery cases, the Laser is what defines the Face & Figure Plastic Aesthetic & Laser Surgery Centre. She ably manages all patients who consult the centre for treatment of the many lesions that are amenable for Laser therapy by almost all the medically relevant lasers that are available at the centre. These include the Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser, Pulsed Dye Lasers, Carbon Dioxide and Erbium:YAG Laser, Endovenous Diode Laser, Diode Laser, Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser and the Intense Pulse Light.

Dr. Meenakshi is a life member of Association of Plastic Surgeon of India and International Society Of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. In view of her seniority and experience in the subject, she was on the Panel of experts for the subject of Lasers in Vascular and Pigmented Lesions at the International Cosmoderm Conference held in February 2005 at Mumbai.

She has been active academically also and has published two papers on Single Dose Cephalosporin (Ceftriaxone) As Antimicrobial Prophylaxis In Surgical Procedures and has presented papers at various conferences. These include topics such as Biliary Tract Obstruction, Scalp Avulsion, Chemical Burns, Laser Epilation - An Indian Experience with Darker Skin Phototypes and Megaliposuction.

Safe Total Corporal Contouring with Large Volume Liposuction in the Obese is a landmark paper published by her in the worlds leading ‘ Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal' published from the USA.

She has also written two articles for the Proceedings of the International Instructional Course and Workshop on Facial Rejuvenation and Lasers in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Mumbai in January 2003 and was titled Laser Treatment in Pigmented Lesions and Laser Treatment in Vascular Lesions.

While pursuing her General Surgical training, she completed her dissertation on ‘Immunological and Histo-chemical Study in Filarial Lymphoedema' from the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

She has attended specialized surgical training in Ethiskills Plastic Surgery, Ellipse Flex System for the Intense Pulse Light from the Dermatologic Development, Denmark, Medlite C3 Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser from the Hoya Conbio Medical and Dental Lasers, Basic Course on Microsurgical Surgical Techniques from the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education, Mumbai and the Ultrasound Assisted Wound Healing Treatment Mediprocure (India) and Soring (Germany).

She is an avid traveler and does so to upgrade her knowledge and skills by regularly attending conferences and workshops attended in Plastic Surgery. Significant amongst them are the IPRAS Asia Pacific Congress, March 2005, Mumbai, COSMODERM. February 2005, Mumbai and the ISAPS International Course 2004, November 2004 at Jaipur, Post Graduate CME Series-2004 0n ‘HAIR' Diagnosis, Depilation, Redistribution and Soft Tissue Enhancement and Office Based Dermato – Plastic Surgery at Mumbai. She has only recently returned from the IPRAS international Congress held at New Delhi.

She also holds life memberships of International Society Of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, Association of Plastic Surgeons India, National Association Of Burns India, All India Association For Advanced Research In Obesity and the Association of Medical Consultants, Mumbai

My Statement:

It is my firm belief to excel in what I do and follow the philosophy of doing the right thing for the right person at the right time. I have trained and worked exclusively in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery since June 2002 at the centers of advanced plastic surgery in India and abroad. In 2005, in search of professional excellence I traveled to Canada to train with Dr. Elizabeth Hall-Findlay, a leading practitioner of the fine art of breast surgeries. I have also spent time at centers in Europe with Drs. Andrea Grissoti and Prof. Giorgio De Santis in Italy, as well as at the internationally acclaimed Clinica Planas at Barcelona, Spain. This experience has helped me raise the level of my clinical and surgical benchmarks and refine my technical skills.

I independently consult, treat and manage patients ( including the post operative period ) seeking aesthetic plastic surgery for the face, liposuction and abdominoplasties for body contouring, breast augmentation and reduction, mastopexy, hair transplant, rhinoplasties, laser surgery and ancillary procedures ( botox, soft tissue fillers, dermabrasion, chemical peels, etc. ). It sure is a task to do so for the patients that are seen daily.

I have participated in large series of these procedures and the work has been presented and published in national and international congresses and journals. My personal experience in private practice in these years has been limited to cases referred to me through personal contacts and goodwill of the consulted and operated patients. I am pleased to state that I have always maintained an excellent rapport with my patients and ensure that I personally share their experiences during the time they are with me.
